The Hunger Games Actress Julianne Moore Reveals She Had an Appendectomy

Julianne Moore, who portrayed President Alma Coin in the fourth franchise of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 revealed she had an emergency appendectomy a few weeks ago.

"Oh my God, I was in so much unbearable pain," Moore revealed to PEOPLE. "I thought I was going to die." But apparently before she was taken to ER, she suffered another health problem that perturbed her.

"It was crazy," Julianne explained to the publication. "During the summer I do a lot of yoga, but I got a bursa on my shoulder so I had to lay off the yoga. Then I got appendicitis so I was like, 'What the hell is happening?!"

After the surgical operation, her husband director Bart Freundlich documented the medical procedure and kept a few photos of her appendix so she could show to her friends.  She quipped, "It's really gross!"

Prior to her busy week, Moore also appeared in The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, where the host declared that the actress is a "ginger icon" and said "When you think redhead, you think Julianne Moore."

Colbert then touched down to the myth that "gingers have no souls?" The actress quickly responded by saying, "I have complicated feelings about it, about being a redhead in general," she admitted. "Because people have expectations that somehow your hair has something to do with your personality. You're either feisty or you're sexy."

Although she admitted that she couldn't decide whether she'd like to be feisty or sexy, she however said she's a "tough redhead."

Julianne Moore along with her other co- stars are currently busy promoting the last installation of The Hunger Games. The movie series premiered in NYC and all stars came out, including the famous Jennifer Lawrence who is known as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Natalie Dormer, Candace Cameron and Jena Malone. They all went out to celebrate the movie premiere.
