Claire Danes posed for the December issue of Allure and touched on the body shaming issue, her acting career, and her worst hair experience ever.
It is no doubt that the 36 year old Danes is one celebrity in Hollywood that has a svelte body that many women are envious of. But though she has perfect proportions, the Golden Globe awardee confessed that she struggled with body confidence since she was young.
"It's just so ingrained in us, the idea that we should take up the right amount of space, literally and figuratively," she told the mag. "I've wrestled with this my whole life, as just a person in the world and as somebody who make images. It's okay to want to look and feel your best. It's okay to work at being attractive, whatever that means to you."
However, the 'Homeland' actress said as she aged, she gained confidence and was contented with herself after she met her husband, Hugh Dancy, whom she shares two year old son Cyrus with. She said her husband has seen it all, from her bad side to her good side but "We just pretend we haven't."
Talking about her acting career, the award winning actress who is fearless when it comes to acting said she wants to give an "honest performance" as she can and doesn't care if she would be "regarded as beautiful when I'm playing a character." Further adding, "I have plenty of vanity in my life. I want to look pretty in the world. But I can be this bottomless pit."
Claire also admitted that since she was young, she has this obsession with curly hair as she was born with straight hair. At the age of eight she got a perm but eventually "Burned all my hair off, basically" but though it was disastrous she insisted "I still loved it."
