Comedy BFFs Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are coming back to co-host Saturday Night Live on its holiday episode and fans of the hilarious duo just couldn't wait.
Us Weekly reports the former cast members will visit the SNL stage on December 19 with musical guest Bruce Springsteen.
Fey, 45, started as a writer for the comedy sketch show in 1997, became a co-anchor on the Weekend Update in 2000 and left the show in 2006. The 30 Rock actress did come back for some cameos as former Vice President candidate Sarah Palin.
Poehler, 44, was also a co-anchor at the Weekend Update and was a cast member from 2001 to 2008, where she made a terrific impression of Hillary Clinton.
The stars of the upcoming movie Sisters have impressed the audience with their hosting antics at the Golden Globe Awards from 2013 to 2015. The future SNL episode will be their first time to team up as hosts of the show.
"What makes it great now is that the only time we see each other is when we work on things -- hosting the Golden Globes, doing 'Sisters' -- so those experiences are exciting and fun," Fey said about working with Poehler. "We're both thrilled to be there, and hopefully that's reflected in the work."
Although they have been such amazing co-hosts and probably incredible comedy movie co-stars, it might be impossible for Leslie Knope and Liz Lemon to do a TV show together.
"She and I haven't really talked about this, but I don't know if we could ever do a series together," she said. "We're both alphas who like to do our own thing and then meet up occasionally."
Hopefuls might just want to settle for their SNL comeback and movie team-up for now.
Other guest hosts for next month's episodes include Ryan Gosling on December 5 and Chris Hemsworth on December 12.
