Google has just announced that they will be releasing two new smartphones this year called the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X. The upcoming devices are said to be equipped with latest version of Android's Operating System dubbed as Android Marshmallow.
The American multinational company traditionally releases one new smartphone per year. The tech company has practiced this for the past five years. Making this year as the first time that Google will unveil two new mobile devices in one time.
Aside from the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the new smartphones also offer substantial upgrades compared to the last year's edition. The Nexus 6P will be a larger device covered with an aluminum shell, while the Nexus 5X will be a bit smaller and with a plastic frame on it.
Nexus 6P is said to be most high end phone ever created by Google. Partnered with Huawei, the new device is called "the most premium phone". The 6P is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, together with a 3GB of RAM and a 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options.
The aforementioned smartphone will also embrace a 5.7-inch 1440p AMOLED display with a massive battery capacity of 3450mAH. The new device which will be sold at a price of $499 and will have a 12.3 megapixel rear camera and 8 megapixel front camera. Additional feature includes Nexus Imprint and USB-C for charging.
On the other hand, the Nexus 5X will be equipped with lower specifications like a hexa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 2700maH battery capacity and a 16GB TO 32GB storage options. The 5X will have a display of 5.2 inch 1080p LCD and will be sold at a cheaper price of $379. The camera and the additional features are much more the same to the Nexus 6P.
Patrick Moorhead expressed his insight concerning the new mobile devices.
"Both new phones look competitive, especially if you are looking for the highest-end Android smartphones," said by the analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy.
