Rapper, rocker, actor, advocate, and all-around OG Ice-T has teamed up with mega-popular fast chicken chain Raising Cane's, to celebrate National Iced Tea Day this past Monday, which makes total sense since the rapper is named after a beverage that Cane's excels at. According to People, T is a long time Cane's connoisseur and is way careful about only endorsing products he sincerely loves. T emphasized the importance of authenticity in his partnerships, saying, "I always try to find things that I'm truly into instead of just endorsing s--- I don't f--- with. That's corny."

National Iced Tea Day With Ice-T

For the National Iced Tea Day celebration, Raising Cane's had a special offer for "Caniac Club" rewards members: a free 22 oz iced tea, sweetened or unsweetened, at any location across the country. When asked about his preference, T went with sweet tea, stating he didn't understand the idea behind unsweetened tea, and frankly, neither do we. The collaboration features a playful twist, with Ice-T portraying a lowercase version of himself floating in a frosty Cane's cup.

Ice T Asks If You Want Fries With That

The highlight of the partnership was undoubtedly Ice-T's stint behind the counter at the New York City's downtown Raising Cane's location, where he personally handed out beverages to delighted customers. Though T is a West Coast rapper, New Yorkers have a special place in their heart for him after he spent years portraying hard-nosed NYPD Sgt. Odafin Tutuola on Law & Order.

Despite his tough-guy image, Ice-T couldn't help but gush about Raising Cane's delicious teas and chicken fingers while engaging with surprised fans throughout the day. The Louisiana chain's popularity is skyrocketing in new locations in the north and eastern parts of America, so if they aren't available near you yet - hang tight. They may be there soon. In the meantime, keep an eye on their Insta to hear about promos, deals, and maybe even an Ice-T appearance in your hood.
