Guns N' Roses Guitarist Richard Fortus Suffers Serious Injuries

Guns N' Roses / Dead Daisies' guitarist Richard Fortus needs to rest and unfortunately have to miss his upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand after suffering serious injuries from a motorcycle crash.

On September 17, Fortus had an accident that left him with broken bones, lacerated liver and concussion.

Through his Facebook page, Fortus posted the incident. He wrote, "On September 17, 2015, I was involved in a motorcycle accident. As a result, I broke my shoulder blade, collar bone, six ribs, a toe, I have a bruised lung, lacerated liver and a concussion."

Luckily for the rocker, he said that he is currently doing okay and the doctors assured him that he is on his way to recover. However, for the first time in his career he will have to miss his entire Australian and New Zealand tour.

The rocker exclaimed, "I am devastated that I will not be able to play... (But) I am healing quickly and getting stronger by the day."

"I'd like to thank everyone for their well-wishes and can't wait to be back in Australia very soon. Rf," he added.

Fortus is used to juggling multiple music projects. Back in 2011, he had a short stint as the lead guitarist of Thin Lizzy. In 2013, he joined the Dead Daisies band. The Dead Daisies is slated to perform to open for KISS during the band's tour in October, as per loud wire.

Since Fortus needs to rest, Baby Animals' guitarist Dave Leslie has been recruited to fill in for his position. "Richard Fortus is an amazing guitar player and I'm really thrilled to be asked to cover for him." Leslie said. "I am going to have to pack an extra bag of socks, because his are extremely big shoes to fill!"

No further details have been released yet about the incident.
