Tesla "Totally Cool" With Rival EV Cars Using Thier Superchargers

Tesla is one of the biggest car companies in the world; they are also one of the biggest propagators of EV cars. The company owns 540 charging station around the world for the Tesla users, that's a whole lot more than the charging stations of other company with EV cars. The car company has gotten itself another medal, and another move that will get them praises from every car lover, because Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO and founder, is super cool about letting rival car companies use their superchargers.

The superchargers, which charge way faster than any other chargers, are primarily used by Tesla owners. But Tesla says that they are open to the idea of sharing their superchargers to a different company. One car company has already made its move, and got into talks with Tesla already, Musk said.

"We are actually in talks with some manufacturers doing just that and it will be exciting to share that news," Musk said to a group hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. He then added that it was a European company but not a German one. Although it sounds like it will be smooth sailing from here on, there are many questions that arise from the probably sharing of the superchargers.

Take for example questions of whether this will be advantageous to the Tesla users? And will there be enough Superchargers for third party EV's without making the Tesla owners wait?

The answers to that are partially dependent on how fast the EV's charge. Tesla's newest addition to its line of EV cars, the Tesla Model S gets charged under an hour, and it does 200+ miles in one charging. If other EV's take hours to recharge and have lower mileage in every recharge then that will be quite a problem, plus, partly the reason why there are so many Tesla owners, it's because the cars charge fast and they have numerous charging stations available.

For now, these are just talks and negotiations are to be made if ever Tesla and other car companies will push through with the sharing of the supercharger network.
