Apple iOS 9: Company Gained 12% Upgrades During the First Day! Are Users Not Convinced with New OS?

As Apple officially released its new iOS 9, a third-party mobile analytics firm evaluated how many users have already upgraded their devices to the new operating systems.

According to Mixpanel, 12 percent of all the iOS users have already upgraded to iOS 9 in the first 24 hours of the initial release.

The analytics platform for mobile and web have formulated a chart for the iOS 9 adoption rates against iOS 8 and other lower versions of the Apple's operating system. The data was obtained by the use of the Software Development Kit from the iOS apps.

Mixpanel reported that the adoption rate of the new iOS 9 was exactly 12.54 percent 24 hours after the Apple's newest version of OS was officially unveiled.

On the other hand, 80.23 percent of all the iOS devices were still running on iOS 8 and 7.23 percent of all the Apple devices still have iOS 7 and other lower versions.

Although the iOS 8 users are still numerous, it is expected that the adoption rate for iOS 9 will continue to increase as the time goes on.  Mixpanel CEO Suhail Doshi wrote an email to MacWorld stating that the data they produced were all accurate.

"We work with some of the biggest companies in the world (Uber, Spotify, Whisper, etc.) and tens of thousands of other apps to derive highly statistically confident data.  We've done this report over the last 3 years with both iOS and Android and it's been highly accurate."
