Apple Releases iPad Pro, New Device Competes With Samsung Galaxy Tab and Microsoft's Surface

In line with the release of the new iPad Pro, Apple has been clear about their intentions with the latest gadget. The tech giant wants their new device to explore other areas of enterprise.

In the first look, it can be viewed that the new iPad Pro is just an updated version of its predecessors. It seems like it is competing with products like Samsung Galaxy tab and Microsoft's Surface. However, Romit Shah of Nomura Equity Research sees the scenario in a different way.

Shah said that the application of the new gadget can extend to the functions of tablets and PCs. He stated that Apple's announcement of the new iPad Pro is a proof of the ongoing problems faced by personal computers.

The new device has a 12.9-inch screen display with a stylus named Apple pencil. With its bigger screen and specs, iPad Pro is trying to equalize with Macs which means that both of the devices will be sold squarely in the market.

As what Shah stated, if the iPad Pro will be successful, the new device will cannibalize the new Apple Mac running in a 12-inch display. If this happens, Intel Company will lost its business as it is primarily the one supporting the 12-inch Mac with an Intel Core M chip. The company is also selling their own brand of Notebooks.

Stephen Baker, NPD's vice president of industry analysis explained his opinion to NBC news about Apple Company.

"There's a clear path for Apple to say, 'we have a lot of opportunity in an area we don't have a lot of presence in right now. The iPad Pro is a way of staking that ground." Baker said.

It is also notable that iPad Pro is now collaborating with Microsoft in the form of Office. In the launching event, it can be observed that the new device is running with an Office productivity software.
