Lil Jon In A Legal Dispute Over Unpaid Home Renovation

Jonathan Mortimer Smith, famously known by his stage name Lil Jon is facing legal issues over failed payment for his house renovation.

Lil Jon is reportedly facing legal difficulties after three construction companies filed legal charges against him for the unpaid work on his house in Apharetta, Georgia.

According to TMZ, the Get Low singer purchased the house back in 2005 for $1.2 million and hired three companies to carry out work on the property. However, the companies now claimed they've been uncompensated and claimed that the rapper owes them over $22,000.

The three companies reportedly filed separate liens against Lil Jon in a bid to get their payment out of the rapper's property value. According to the legal docs filed, the music artist owes $1,050 for the KLS plumbing, $15,000 to Lackey Drywall company and $6,743.86 to Eastern Wallboard Supply.

However, Lil Jon's representative said that they hired a general contractor to handle the house renovation and the rapper is "aware" that GC company might have failed to pay the complainants properly. The spokesperson further added that Lil Jon is in the "process of resolving" the issue.

This is not the first time a rapper was sued over work carried out at the property. Just recently, the Smack That hit maker Akon also faced a $15,000 lawsuit after the Capital Floors LLC claimed that the rapper failed to pay them the floors installations on his Georgia Mansion.

Naftali Yair, company executive also alleged he suffered health problems since the remodeling began. Another construction company also filed legal action against Akon, back in 2014. Durable Steel Structures filed lien against the Locked Up singer for the structural work on his mansion. The company will receive funds if the singer decides to sell his property for the $36,765 he owes them.

He is also facing a lawsuit from Lazer Stucco and Clearvue Glass & Mirror Co. for unpaid payments, as per contact music.
