'Mission Impossible' Is About To Make History

The movie franchise 'Mission Impossible' is about to release its 6th installment and the studio has already assigned a director to helm the job. Christopher McQuarrie is the name people should get familiar with. The Inquisitr reported the joyous announcement of the 47-year-old director when he posted his excitement for the job on his Twitter account.

It is undoubtedly a very challenging job, but McQuarrie showed he is more than ready in accepting all those through his enthusiasm. He is also making history for this job because it is the first time that a director of this franchise will do it twice. Big names have directed it before like J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) when he handled the job doing 'Mission: Impossible 3' and John Woo (Face/Off), to name a few. McQuarrie is the only Hollywood director who will break a record in directing this movie series twice since he worked on the 5th installment.

This franchise has been in the industry since 1996. It is also responsible for launching the careers of successful directors we know this day and among them are J.J. Abrams and Brad Bird who is known for directing the hit animated film 'The Incredibles.'

And although Abrams no longer directed it, he was still working behind the scenes. This only shows that it must have been fun working on a project like this for directors that even though they are not exactly the one in the action set, they still want to be a part of it.

In an interview with Deadline in the middle of this year, the director shared some details on how he and actor Tom Cruise worked the last time. He said, “What Tom and I discussed at the very beginning, was about keeping the tone fun. If the audience is telling the industry anything right now, it’s that they just want to go to the movies and have a good time. We wanted to deliver on that. As far as comparisons to those other spy movies in the genre, we really just didn’t think about it. We put it out of our minds as best we could.”
