The Cantina: Star Wars Themed Bar Opens In Ottawa

'Star Wars' themed bar, Cantina, in Ottawa was officially opened on Saturday.

"The Cantina is actually where Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi first meet Han Solo and it's a bar and it's probably one of the best scenes in the world," Jeff St.Pierre, co-owner of the Cantina explained to 580 CFRA.

It's actually a place where avid fans of the fictional, iconic series can enjoy, relax with the 'Star Wars' theme and talk about the whole movie. The room was painted in brown to represent the desert on Tatooine, home to Anakin and Luke Skywalker and the wall was filled with posters and images from the epic movie.

The bar is also serving drinks inspired by the fictional movie such as Bantha Milk, a blue colored drink that's produced by a female bantha's mammary glands and Yoda, a green colored concoction mix with melon and apple liqueur.

Bar co-owner Tyler Wood, hopes that the offered menu which was based on the saga will make the bar come to life for the die hard fans, CTV News reported.

Mr Wood during the opening of the bar, which seats about 30 people said that the place was filled with fans that dressed up as 'Star Wars' characters. "We were pretty overwhelmed most of the day. We ran out of a bunch of stuff," he added.

St. Pierre also addressed the possible copyright infringement issue. He said it "was a consideration" and if Disney raised legal concerns, bar owners would happily discussed the matter with the movie franchise owners.

Star Wars film, "Episode VII - The Force Awakens," is set to premiere on Dec 18 and bar owners are hopeful that die hard fans will find Cantina as a good place to stay and exchange plot theories about the movie while enjoying the bar's drinks, which was inspired by the epic movie.
