Sean Avery Arrested Just Days Before Wedding to Hilary Rhoda

Hilary Rhoda's fiancé, who is a former New York Rangers hockey player, Sean Avery, was arrested in Southampton Village on Wednesday, just ten days before their wedding day.

The 35 year old player was charged with criminal mischief and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was found carrying acetaminophen and oxycodone during the arrest.

According to E! News, authorities said the criminal mischief charges against Avery started in Sept 29. He was caught throwing objects at speeding cars down the street, which lead to his arrest.

Police are investigating the said incident and they believe that there are other victims of his actions.

Avery was released after posting $500 bail and is due to appear back at the Southampton Village Justice Court on Oct. 26.

Edward Burke Jr, Avery's lawyer told E! News that they are confident and "looking forward" to answer the criminal charges against his client. He also said that the drugs found in his client during the arrest was actually prescribed, Burke said, "Mr. Avery has prescriptions for the medications that were the basis of this charge."

Through Twitter, Avery also shared the prescriptions of the drugs, he wrote, "Pretty disgusting I even have to do this but unfortunately it's the same old story. Have fun with this one."

He later posted a picture of a cop ticketing a car. He wrote, "Ticket ..... 'Parking in the middle of the St.' Hmmm smells a little fishy to me."

This is not the first time Avery was handcuffed, back in 2011, he was arrested after he was accused of shoving a police officer in Los Angeles, but the charges were later dropped.

Meanwhile, Avery is due to tie the knot with his model fiancé Hilary Rhoda on Saturday. The couple have been engaged since Nov 2013.
