Following Nina Dobrev's exit from the popular television series 'The Vampire Diaries', Ian Somerhalder, who happens to be Dobrev's leading man in the series, has been recently engaged into rumors that he might soon be exiting the show after season 7.
Clearing up the rumors while teasing some details about his Vampire Diaries character as Damon Salvatore, Somerhalder hinted about what's in store on the Season 7 of 'The Vampire Diaries', according to reports.
As he teased some important details about the upcoming season, Somerhalder's character would definitely still have a long way to go in the series. His character will feel more obliged in taking care of Elena's best friend, Bonnie, because it is what Elena wants him to do.
When being asked about the fate of Damon Salvatore and if there can be a chance on getting a Damon and Bonnie tandem, the actor revealed that the two characters will stay as friends throughout the whole season for Elena.
"Every time he looks at Bonnie, he only sees Elena. He does love her and it is an unfortunate situation that they find themselves in because it's that thing every time he looks at her, 'Oh, if I just push her down the building I'd get Elena back," Somerhader explained.
Besides Damon and Bonnie, TVD season 7 is going to be a lot different for the rest of the characters, including Paul Wesley's Stefan Salvatore and Candice Accola's Caroline Forbes, who are teased to be paired up on the new chapter, reports say.
While the TVD loyalists are getting ready for the new season, which will air later this week, they still couldn't get over the fact that their favorite character, Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert is no longer part of the new season.
Mark Pedowitz, CW's network head, said that the doors are always open for Dobrev if ever she decides to come back.
"We'd have loved Nina to stay. She did a great job with the six years she was on the show. She is welcome any time she wants to come back," he said.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs on October 8, Friday, at 8PM on The CW.
