Lethal Weapon TV Series is Happening at Fox

Reportedly, the series of buddy cop action films Lethal Weapon, is getting a TV reboot at Fox. The classic crime-solving films, that starred the American actor and filmmaker - Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs and the American actor and political activist - Danny Glover as Roger Murtaugh, is about to get redone for contemporary audiences.

Lethal Weapon will be remade by Warner Brothers TV (WBTV), the television production arm of Warner Bros. Entertainment, who has a pilot commitment at Fox, Deadline reports.

Deadline also stated that, the Lethal Weapon TV series will revolve around the same characters from the original film of the series, 1987's Lethal Weapon and the three sequels, Lethal Weapon 2 in 1989, the 1992 Lethal Weapon 3 and the Lethal Weapon 4 in 1998.

Lethal Weapon TV series' general description is, "When Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs moves to L.A. to start once more after the loss of his wife and baby. There, Martin Riggs gets partnered with LAPD Detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life."

It has been said that the Lethal Weapon TV series reboot is kind of an amazing idea, however, the buddy-cop shows or plot aren't too famous or in-demand nowadays.

Nevertheless, it has become a trend for popular films rebooting as TV series, just like -  Syfy's science fiction mystery drama - 12 Monkeys, MTV's American horror television series - Scream, CBS' American drama television series that stars Jake McDorman - Limitless, Fox's American science fiction crime drama television series - Minority Report, FX's Fargo and A&E's longest-running original scripted drama series - Psycho-based Bates Motel - are just a handful of television shows that have established deeply on the big screen.

And also, Fox is preparing a Behind Enemy Lines series, while the American mass media corporation CBS has Training Day and Rush Hour shows in development.
