Kelly Clarkson has cancelled the rest of her Canadian tour and her entire UK tour, which was due to kick off in Glasgow on 12 November.
The 'Since You've Been Gone' hit maker was forced to take a break for the rest of the year under her doctor's advice. She announced the heartbreaking news through her website, revealing that she is currently experiencing severe inflammation in her vocal cords. Due to her doctor's orders she had to cancel her entire tour.
"I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates," Clarkson wrote. "I was so looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the UK. Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible."
The cancellation affects a total of 16 concerts for the year. Ten in Canada, one in Ireland and five in several areas of the UK.
The 33 year old singer started experiencing problems with her vocal cords after giving birth to her first child, River Rose, last year.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight Canada, she said that she was devastated since she thought that she had lost her voice for good. She shares she even had moments where she just drank and cried all day to take the sadness away.
"I was like, 'Oh, God, I'm not going to be a singer anymore.' She told the media outlet. "I was bawling to my husband and like, completely hammered, just going, 'Oh my God, it's over, I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess I could do more charity work."
"I didn't know what I was going to do," she added.
Kelly Clarkson released her seventh album 'Piece By Piece' earlier this year. Her song 'Heartbeat' even made it to number seven in the Official Singles Chart.
