On the same week Kaley Cuoco's on-screen alter ego on "The Big Bang Theory," Penny, married longtime on-and-off boyfriend Leonard (Johnny Galecki), the actress is going through the exact opposite in her personal life, recently announcing Kaley Cuoco's divorce from Ryan Sweeting less than two years after tying the knot.
The 29 year-old actress and the tennis player married on New Year's Eve in 2013 after having gone out for three months, and though rumors of an impending Kaley Cuoco divorce followed the couple since nearly the beginning, the 29 year-old star had denied these claims time and again.
According to CNN, Kaley Cuoco's divorce was announced through a statement last Friday night, and spokespeople for the actress said the two had decided to end their marriage as they neared their second anniversary.
"Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage," went Kaley Cuoco's divorce statement to People Magazine, through one of the reps for the highest-paid actress on television (alongside Sofia Vergara). "They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter."
As Hollywood Life reports, throughout the entire 2015, Cuoco dismissed rumors of an impending Kaley Cuoco divorce time and again, speaking wonders about her athlete husband every chance she got and even changing her name legally to Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and earlier this year she gushed about her husband on Instagram by saying she had "never been more proud of anyone on this planet."
Kaley and Ryan were last seen together at a public event last August, when the two attended an LG Electronics event presented by Eva Longoria, under the title "Fam to Table" - and at the time, they seemed madly happy and at ease with each other.
Very sad news on Kaley Cuoco's divorce, hopefully it's all for the best!
