Billy Ray talked about his daughter, Miley Cyrus, who recently admitted that she's a pansexual while posting for a magazine.
"We've always been very open-minded, Billy Ray told E! at the MTV Video Music Awards. "Listen, it's all about love and light. Forget the negativity and the haters."
Billy Ray also expressed his support for his daughter.
"Even when she was a little girl, we told her, 'Hey, baby, do what you do and have fun doing it. Do it because you love it, not because you have to. Seeing her happy is the greatest thing ever."
The former Disney star became controversial with her infamous twerk and even posting her naked photo in Instagram just hours before hosting the MTV Video Music Awards, Ray still insisted that Miley is a good influence.
"She's rocking and rolling and having a good time. What the world needs is love. There's too much hate...The world needs positive influences."
Cyrus is the new face for the October issue of Elle U.K, during her posed for the magazine the LGBT activist shared some details about her personal life.
Over the past few months, Cyrus has been rumored to be dating the Victoria's Secret Angel, Stella Maxwell. But the singer seems to be hating the label.
She revealed to the magazine, "I'm 22, I'm going on dates, but I change my style every two weeks, let alone who I'm with. I'm very open about it; I'm pansexual. But I'm not in a relationship."
She is also the founder of the non-profit organization, The Happy Hippie Foundation. She also explained to the mag the importance of using her power to help her charity.
"I was kind of embarrassed that I got paid money to shake my ass in a teddy bear costume,' she says, 'I should not be worth the amount I am while people live on the streets."
