Activision, the publisher of the highly anticipated 'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' has announced that the video game is now being played by millions of gamers on PlayStation 4. The beta version of the game was ranked as the biggest beta ever on the platform.
The response of the fans indicate that the most-awaited shooter video game will be a hit once it is officially released. Sony executive Adam Boyes expressed his amazement in a press release.
"Played by millions of PlayStation fans around the world, the response to the beta was massive and shows the strength when bringing together the best-selling console franchise with the best-selling game console," Boyes stated.
"Signaling an impressive start of a new era for PlayStation and this famed franchise, there was no better way to welcome Call of Duty to its new home on PlayStation 4," he added.
Activision has not yet provided a precise number of downloads they recorded. The company claims that the Black Ops III beta version had the highest number of gameplay sessions, downloads and total number of hours of gaming compared to other PS4 beta titles.
Treyarch Studios, the developer of the first person shooter game acquired critical feedback and technical data from the gamers which helped them improve the upcoming game. The release of the beta is just the beginning of Sony's exclusivity agreement with Activision.
The 'Call of Duty: Black Ops III Beta' was issued for PS4 users last August 19 to August 24. Xbox One users and PC gamers were also given the chance to obtain a copy of the game on August 26 to August 30.
After breaking the record, Black Ops III is expected to make history in the gaming world. The full version of the video game will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on November 6.
Activision stated that the beta can help the company enhance the game. The tech company promised the gamers that the beta only offered a sneak peek of the full features of the game.
