Microsoft Surface Pro 4: Company To Release New Device in October

A year after Microsoft released the Surface Pro 3 tablet, reports reveal that the multinational company plans to issue the Surface Pro 4 model this coming October. The device will be expected to run on Windows 10, its latest operating system.

Microsoft has ordered a large volume of 256GB solid state drives developed by Samsung to be included in the new Surface Pro 4. The shipment will start in September, a month before the official launching of the product.

Rumors circulating state that about 500,000 to 600,000 units of the latest device will be distributed monthly for sale.

The Surface Pro 4 will feature the new Intel Skylake processor. It will have a large display and an ultra-thin design. Largan Precision and Newmax will be the provider of the camera module of the device. The frameworks will be made of magnesium-aluminum alloy prepared by JuTeng International.

The cooling modules will be provided by Chaun-Choung Technology and Taisol Electronics. Realtek and Winbond will be responsible for the chips of the latest device. Microsoft has chosen Pegatron Technology to be the one to manufacture the tablets.

Some sources have noted that the new Surface Pro 4 will not be totally different from its previous model. The 12-inch display will offer a 2160x1440-pixel screen resolution. It will feature a 16GB RAM promising a faster speed. Many believe that Microsoft will double the 500GB storage of the Surface Pro 3 in the new version.

As of now, only limited information about the Surface Pro 4 is available. Microsoft is yet to reveal the improvements, capabilities and additional specs of the 2-in-1 device.

Since the Surface Pro 3 costs $799, the price of the upcoming updated model might come around the same amount, or slightly higher.

Though the demand for tablet is slowly declining, the tech company still believes that Surface Pro 4 will be a hit in the market.
