Microsoft Plans Global Windows 10 Launch

Microsoft is just a few weeks away from launching its latest OS version, the Windows 10. The company, through its CEO Satya Nadella, will be celebrating a global debut for the highly-anticipated operating system this month.

The product, which is going to change how people use computing devices, has been scheduled for release this coming July 29. The launch will include fan celebrations and promos in different store locations from 13 countries around the world.

A new campaign ad will also be released to promote Windows 10 and targeted to aid users in transitioning to the new version.

Microsoft reveals the advantages of the global debut to the users. "These celebrations will offer hands-on opportunities, experiential demos, entertainment and opportunities to meet the Windows team."

The global launching will be held in large cities such as New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Sydney, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, and Sao Paolo. The debut will be the first under Nadella's leadership since he became the company's CEO in 2014.

Earlier, Microsoft issued a public preview of the newest Windows 10, revealing the intelligent personal assistant Cortana and the Microsoft Edge browser.

The Edge browser is said to be the biggest change in the new version, which is actually the modified and rebranded edition of Project Spartan. Users' history, cookies, reading list items and favorites saved in Project Spartan will be gone after the system will be updated.

Windows 10 will the first operating system offered as a free upgrade. Users can utilize the free upgrade for a limited time for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices.

The multinational tech company is now preparing and finalizing the product before the targeted launch date arrives. Microsoft is already arranging the distribution of the OS to its PC partners, where it will be preloaded for testing.
