Jean-Claude Van Damme claims he can save the world by creating a movement that seeks to protect the environment.
The 54 year old actor, who is best known for his martial arts themed films said the human race faces extinction in the next 50 or 60 years. However, he claimed that he can save the world by persuading the world leaders to do something about it.
"The human being is a wonderful species and they have a way of fixing everything and hopefully they are going to help themselves, but if they don't then it [the world] is over in 50 or 60 years," he said at BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast.
Van Damme said he has a "way" that could make a "huge difference" in the world. He said this can be done by starting an "ecology circle, where the leaders of the world are saving animals." The actor pointed out that if world leaders started doing something that could save the animals and by putting things on a "good balance" people in the world will automatically follow through and eventually "rearrange for a better position on earth." As a result, he said, "Earth will have a longer process of life, with people in it."
And when asked how he would get the world leaders attention to start saving the world, Van Damme said through "nature." He pointed out that every leader is a human being. They have someone they care and they have a "heart" and every leader "understand the word love or deception."
He also said he stands a huge chance of saving the world because he personally knows some of the leaders, which he could possibly persuade of making a big difference.
Jean- Claude said, "With all the people I know from a valet parking friend of mine to Mr Putin, or Mr Obama and all those big names, I know them well ... Mr Trump too, I think we can do something because this is the last chance. 2015 we can fix the world!"
