Last year, Taylor Swift gave a revealing interview to Rolling Stone Magazine about her then recently launched album, "1989," where she was asked about the inspiration for her song "Bad Blood," to which she replied that it was based on a broken friendship, prompting many to wonder whether it was due to a falling out between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
Months later, every few weeks there are new rumors regarding Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, from the "Roar" singer supposedly preparing a vengeance song directed at her rival pop star to even things becoming more awkward since Katy started dating Taylor's former love, John Mayer - but could the whole supposed feud be a fabrication?
Swift was recently featured on the cover of GQ Magazine and, of course, there was a long interview accompanying the singer's steamy photo shoot where she was asked, among many other things, about that famous Taylor Swift and Katy Perry "Bad Blood" - and her response is a little bit shocking.
"You're in a Rolling Stone interview, and the writer says, 'Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life,'" went the singer when confronted about those Taylor Swift and Katy Perry rumors, according to Us Weekly. "And you sit there, and you know you're on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don't want him-or his family-to think you're firing shots at him. So you say, 'That was about losing a friend.' And that's basically all you say."
However, as of either Taylor Swift or Katy Perry will remember, that wasn't the only thing the "Blank Space" songstress said about the inspiration behind the song, as Swift also shared that the conflict had started when a fellow pop star had tried to "sabotage an entire arena tour," which prompted speculation that it was Perry in the first place.
It's unclear whether Swift's latest interview clarifies that her words weren't in fact directed at Perry or if it's just a ploy to make the conflict more interesting in perspective - so the Taylor Swift and Katy Perry rumors rage on!
