Rebel Wilson Replaced By Kate Hudson In 'Kung Fu Panda 3'

'Pitch Perfect 3' actress, Rebel Wilson was replaced by Kate Hudson for the voicing character of Mei Mei in Kung Fu Panda 3.

Wilson already started recording for the third instalment of the DreamWorks franchise. However, due to her other commitments she was forced to pull out from her part. Now, Hudson is expected to take her place while animation team are expected to alter some of the footage so she can voice the character well.

Mei Mei is described as a "crazy, ribbon-dancing panda -the movie series," according to Daily Mail. She is romantically obsessed with the Panda hero, Po, which is voiced by Jack Black.

As for Kate, who is currently filming Garry Marshall's comedy 'Mother's Day,' confirmed the news on Instagram by sharing a photo of herself beside Mei Mei.

She wrote, "Who's that sassy Panda? It's Mei Mei who's me me in Kung Fu Panda Three Three! #KungFuPanda3 #MeiMei #WaitTillYouSeeHerRibbonDance #MyKidsAreSoExcited"

According to the movie summary, Po reunites with his long lost father Li Shan (Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston) and meets his love interest Mei Mei.

However, Po's new found happiness is threatened by a new enemy, Kai, who begins wiping out every kung fu master. So, Po gear up to fight the villain but he must first turn his panda family into an unlikely team of warriors.

Just like Kate, many Hollywood A- listers voice will be feature in the Kung Fu Panda 3. Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan lend their voices in the animated movie. As well as Academy Award-winning actors J.K Simmons, Dustin Hoffman and Angelina Jolie. Director of the 'Kung Fu Panda 2,' Jennifer Yuh Nelson has also joined the team again.

'Kung Fu Panda 3' is due to be released in the US on January 2016 and the UK in March.
