Most parents strive to raise their children in such a way that they turn out to be good. These families may not be perfect, but they try to be functional at all times. Struggling while keeping the family intact is what makes a family stronger.
However, what really causes confusion is how a child can commit a crime with no remorse. This may be overwhelming for some - Time reports that a child, no more than 12-years-old, committed a heist involving the take-over of an 89-year-old man's car in Florida.
It seems that this isn't the child's first act of wrongdoing. Tampabay.com said that the officers noted that this isn't the boy's first vehicle theft either.
His records show more than 20 previous offenses. This makes us wonder what happened to this child. Can we take the parents' inattentiveness to the boy's needs as a factor, or simply hold the child responsible for his actions?
The boy stealthily made his way over to the elderly man, telling him that there's a problem with his tire. Trusting the boy's word, the man got out of his car and checked the wheel in front of the passenger's seat.
The child jumped off of his bike. Almost like lightning speed, he went to the driver's seat and immediately drove the car out of the gas station. The old man was struck by the realization that his vehicle was just stolen by a 12-year-old boy.
The car owner, Raymond Raftery, said to the Times, "He was good. I felt kind of dumb afterward, but it was broad daylight, and he was a kid."
This child is in need of help. May it come from his parents, or anybody else concerned, he needs all the attention that he can get. One cannot stress the importance and the seriousness of his case.
