Now that Supergirl has confirmed the extension of Season 1, viewers are now much more focused on Kara's fate. What battle awaits our heroine in the coming fall finale?
In the last episode, Kara (played by Melissa Benoist) encounters her aunt Astra (played by Laura Benanti) in a captured confrontation. Astra has been in hiding for the past few episodes and now that she has decided to show up, what does the dear aunt have in store for her favorite niece?
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spills, "There's a little bit of a surprising revelation that Astra has figured out a way to neutralize Kryptonite," Uh oh, that makes the whole situation quite difficult for our heroine and possibly Team Kara.
Everybody knows Kryptonite is the killing element but what fans are much more excited about is the actual fight between the two Kryptonians, between the two family members, and between two females - cat fight?
The fight will take on an epic proportion in the coming finale, it may be emotional but maybe more of rage and anger. Kreisberg says that this is going to be an emotional confrontation because Kara has been very angry towards Astra eversince she found out that she was not the loving aunt that she knew when she was a child.
But wait, Astra may not be the bad gal as everyone thinks. Aunt Astra tells Kara that she's not the villain and comes with news about Kara's mother that will make Kara question her own family's morality.
Astra will then reveal the true nature of her plan, eventually. What we know for sure, both Kryptonians are fighting for the same reason but are just two different sides of the coin.
Kreisberg confesses two cliffhangers - one emotional and one literal. It's going to be a two-parter finale and like all two-parters, part two will be the prelude to the upcoming January episode, as reports indicated.
Fans will just have to see when Supergirl airs on Monday at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
