Chris Hemsworth Admits He Suffered a 'Food Hangover'

Chris Hemsworth has revealed he suffered "food hangover" when the movie In the Heart of the Sea wrapped.

The Thor star previously revealed that he embarked himself on a rigorous diet regime to lose a lot of weight for his latest movie In the Heart of the Sea. To prepare himself for the portrayal of his role, Hemsworth limited himself to a 500 calorie daily consumption and called the diet program "Lost at Sea."

After religiously following the course the actor revealed he lost a staggering 33 pounds in just four weeks. However, it doesn't serve him well as he confessed that due to his diet regime he suffered an upset stomach after he gorged on pizza during the wrapping of the film.

"It gave us all a bit of a food hangover. It wasn't nearly as satisfying as I thought it would be," Hemsworth revealed to New York Daily News' Confidenti@l column, as TV3.ie.

His co-star Benjamin Walker also revealed that he as well suffered an upset stomach after eating half of the slice of a pizza. He said that indulging in pizza after not taking any dairy products and carbs in months is not a good idea. Adding, "It was a wonderful minute and a half."

Hemsworth also revealed to PEOPLE that after the production wrapped he went to an Italian restaurant with his wife Elsa Pataky. He feasted with his wife and ate a lot of food, including the "wrong things." Further adding, "I hadn't eaten anything like that for a while."

Throughout his diet process, Hemsworth admitted that it affected his mood but credited his wife for the support and understanding as she had to deal with the actor's mood changes.

Adding, "She's great. I'd kind of done it before in Rush but not to this extreme. By the end of it she was happy for me to start eating again."
