One of the members of the popular British boy band One Direction, Liam Payne, is making a list of his New Year's resolution for the coming 2016 and one of them is him saying farewell to smoking. The Inquisitr pointed out that this move of the pop star was a result of fan's online campaign on Twitter that says #YouCanDoItLiam.
His fans are showing him support just so he would finally quit his unhealthy habit. Payne responded positively to the concern of his followers and just this weekend he announced that it is indeed his goal to remove cigarettes in his lifestyle starting this New Year. He also told People Magazine about this goal saying he will try to give up smoking, which is not easy, but the important thing is his willingness to do so. He even added that it is just the right time for him to bid it goodbye and the need for him to grow. He is definitely showing a lot of maturity these days.
The whole campaign for Liam Payne to quit smoking started when fans found an Instagram photo of him with a lit cigarette, they raised their concern knowing he is someone suffering from a congenital kidney disease. His followers made a move to help the pop star change his bad habit so as to improve his health condition. Design & Trend also added that there has been some Tumblr pages dedicated to the boy band member where fans would post pictures of him, caught in the act for smoking.
The power of social media cannot be underestimated these days. It has the ability to change people's lives for the better. Thanks to Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr, a campaign like this was produced to also inspire a lot of smokers to quit smoking while it is not too late.
