It's Grammy nominations time and it's that time of the year when all arms are up in rage when your favorite artist gets snubbed because of the lack of love. This year's biggest Grammy snubs include Carly Rae Jepsen, A$AP Rocky, Blur, Elle King, Sleater-Kinney and Trap Queen.
Let's start off with Carly Rae Jepsen. Although she's not as pop-tastic as Taylor Swift but she did have a few fantastic releases from her album EMOTION. Her album has been named as one of the best written albums even after "Call Me Maybe". But the girl couldn't score a Best Pop title?
A$AP Rocky was denied a spot in the general categories even after he shot out the best hip hop sweep with At.Long.Last.A$AP. That couldn't even get in the rap section while Drake received five nominations.
Elle King's debut album Love Stuff was a chart topping success. Although she stringed pop, country and rock perfectly, she didn't even score a nomination for Best New Artist.
And how about Sleater-Kinney and Blur? Both important '90s bands that made an even stronger come back. And both are not listed under the Alternative or Rock categories.
The "Trap Queen" single by Fetty Wap got slated for a couple of rap categories - and yes, there's a but - but the name isn't on the Song of Year list. Oh, and he's not nominated for Best New Artist, either.
Although this year, Grammy Awards did do a fair job, better than the previous year, of harnessing the year's best performing artists. Unfortunately, Adele couldn't make the cut as her single was just a tad late but there is potential for her Hello in 2017. The Recording Academy is trying to make it right but that doesn't stop the multitudes of music fans to grumble in rage or raise eyes in confusion, as initially reported.
