Poor Mary is struggling to find a solution for Scotland's freedom and everybody in France thinks Don Carlos is the answer. But will Mary be able to gather enough courage to bed the man?
Don Carlos arrives and Mary receives him with open arms. Both royals getting along quite well. In the throes of courtship, Don Carlos begs Mary to play a game with him. A game he calls "The Hound and The Hare". Mary, being the conservative type, can't bring herself to join the chase and declines.
A while later, the Prince of Spain receives an anonymous letter threatening his secret to be revealed and his father, and possibly the church, will not be happy about it. Don Carlos badly needs to leave and this threatens the courtship (i.e the alliance between Spain and Scotland).
Hearing of his impending departure, Mary thinks that he is leaving because she is not brave enough to play a woodsy game. He tells Mary that he is to leave France once his luggage from Austria arrives.
Desperate Mary then concedes to the game and tells Don Carlos that she is willing to be chased. But Don Carlos defines the game differently. The nobles are present and wearing boots and the Prince explains the game's instructions. The Hares are the men and the Hounds are the women.
Mary tries her best to find Don Carlos in the woods but ended up with a broken ankle. And who else will save the day but a guy you don't want to see? Gideon Blackburn, the English Ambassador carries Mary to the castle grounds, leaving our sweet prince waiting in the woods for three hours.
His luggage arrives and so does Mary's curiosity. She ordered for the luggage to be kept in the cellar and without him knowing, she tries to pry a crate open.
Don Carlos catches Mary in the act and instead of antagonizing her, he confesses his deepest darkest secret. Don Carlos is a kinky prince carrying a sexual contraption around and likes to be whipped. He invites Mary to keep his secret and is willing to marry her only if she is willing to whip him.
Our scared Queen asked for advice from Katherine. Keep in mind Katherine lost her vote as Queen regent this whole time, as told, but wants to keep her promise to help Mary save Scotland. She plans on whipping the prince for Mary while he was blind-folded.
She enters his chambers and straps him on the horse with the blindfold but catches on quickly when Mary tries to stop Katherine from whipping too hard.
Don Carlos, feeling betrayed, tried to run but accidentally impales himself on the contraption. Fearing that the prince may be dead, our two ladies scheme a back up plan. Only to turn around and find he has crawled out of the room and found to be bleeding.
Oh, Mary. What have you done?
