Simon Cowell Is Thankful That His Son Was Not Taken By a Burglar!

Simon Cowell said he's thankful that his son Eric is safe and sound after a burglar broke into his mansion and stole some of their belongings.

The music mogul revealed to The Sun that he got up at dawn on Friday after his bodyguard alerted him that an intruder has broken into his home in Holland Park, West London. Cowell said "It was nerve-racking," the first thing that came to his mind was his son. He and his long- time partner Lauren Silverman quickly checked their 21 month old son.

"Apart from the fact someone broke into my house and stole my stuff, which is scary, it could have been worse. Thankfully no one was hurt," Simon added to the publication. After the horrifying incident, Cowell said he realized that they have the "worst guard dogs in the world."

The culprit stole some of the family's jewelries and cash that is believed to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. But Simon undisclosed the value of the stolen items and said "I don't want to talk about that. The insurance company will cover that." Adding, "the most important thing is to make sure everyone is OK."

M'Bathonha Mendes, one of the residents' guard saw the burglar in a hurry from Simon's multi million mansion. He reportedly approached the culprit, but the culprit jumped and fled.

Mendes failed to catch the perpetrator but managed to retrieve some of the stolen jewelries, including Cowell's passport after he attempted to catch him.

"He approached the guy but the guy ran off. The guard then told us somebody had burgled the house. We didn't even know," Simon explained. And because of Mendes' bravery, Cowell promised that he "got a big Christmas present coming."

This is the second time, an intruder illegally entered Cowell's mansion. Back in 2012, a stalker, who was identified as Leanne Zaloumis also managed to get into his house through a bathroom window.
