Quicksilver's (Evan Peters) superpowers in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was undoubtedly one of the coolest in the film. Quicksilver completely stole his scenes. However, his time on-screen was so small that naturally, fans were disappointed.
Quicksilver's scene was considered by many the highlight of the entire movie. Not only did Peters show that Quicksilver can move with super speed, but he showed he could get the job done while having fun. Having become a fan favorite, 20th Century Fox and director Bryan Singer apparently noticed the pull the character would have with audiences which is why they decided to have him do a much bigger role in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse."
Evan Peters recently sat down with Collider, and said that Quiksilver's role in "X-Men: Apocalypse" is something fans will like. He added that it wil be bigger and longer. They even shot for 22 days for one sequence of which Peters said fans are really going to enjoy it as Quicsilver will be seen in slow-mo shots just doing his thing.
Investing 22 days just for shooting Quiksilver's in "X-Men: Apocalypse" is proof enough that the studio is in the right direction.
In "Days of Future Past," the original plan had reportedly been to use Juggernaut to break Magneto out of the Pentagon. Fortunately they opted for Quiksilver, which gave the scene a special flair and look totally awesome.
According to Cinema Blend, Evan Peters' Quiksilver in "Days of Future Past" was the opposite of Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quiksilver in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." While Peters' version had an enthusiastic outlook towards his abilities, Taylor-Johnson's was irritable and angry at the slowness of the common world.
Peters' Quiksilver in "Days of Future Past" provided a much-needed comic relief to the otherwise dark and serious film.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" creators have hinted from the start that the film will be the biggest "X-Men" film to date, so Quiksilver's bigger role is fitting.
According to Screen Rant, there are no details as to when the fan favorite character will appear in the film's sequence.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated for release May 27, 2016.
