Iceman Marvel: Founding Mutant Superhero Comes Out As Gay On Brian Michael Bedis’ ‘Uncanny X-Men’

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen a number of characters from the comic books gaining prominence, they're still miles away from what's happening in the original stories right now, and as Marvel goes through a major reboot with the All New, All Different universe, Iceman Marvel just revealed a huge secret.

In the most recent "Uncanny X-Men #600," an epic in its own right as it's also the last of a much-beloved saga written by Brian Michael Bedis, Iceman from Marvel finally reveals his sexual preferences after months of discussion - and yep, he's gay.

According to IGN, the first time Iceman's Marvel sexuality was hinted was a while back on a previous issue, when a time-traveling younger version of Jean Grey (the role played by Famke Janssen in the past, with "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner playing her in next year's installment) reads his thoughts as he says he's "full gay."

However, it hadn't been revealed what this would mean for the present-day Iceman Marvel character, who's always acted straight in the past - but the most recent issue confirmed that he's gay as he confronts himself about his sexuality in a new comic, as he talks to his past self about his desire to keep that part of himself hidden for so many years, until finally accepting the truth.

As Comic Book Resources reports, on the recent issue, the younger version of the mutant asks the present-day one why he decided to stay in the closet, saying he wasn't going to do the same and didn't understand why he still did.

Earlier this year, the original comic where Jean Grey reads Iceman's mind and discovers his secret received a lot of hate for different reasons, including Jean messing with his private thoughts without his knowledge and how blunt the whole thing was - but fans can rest assured now that Iceman from Marvel is finally being honest with himself.
