Candidly Nicole star Nicole Richie admitted that she and her husband, Good Charlotte rocker, Joel Madden don't always get along when it comes to their children's sweet cravings.
The 34 year old fashion designer, who has daughter Harlow, seven, and six-year-old son Sparrow with hubby Madden, wants to be a cool mother for the spooky holiday. But admitted she and her hubby are having a little bit of a debate right now as she is reluctant to introduce their kids to oversized chocolate bars and sugary treats.
"We're having a heated discussion about [candy] at home," Nicole revealed to E! News. "Because I think that kids want to take little candies in their hands and look like they have a lot, and my husband wants to give the big oversized candies."
She further explained her reasons why she's opposing her hubby "I don't like that, and I don't think it's healthy, and he thinks I'm being nerdy." Though she is hesitant about the whole sweet treats thing she admitted that she's still thinking about it and might consider it as she wants to give their children a blast this year.
The family is planning to celebrate their Halloween night in a traditional way and insisted they didn't plan anything special. She explained, "Halloween's really about my kids, and they have friends of theirs and they want to trick-or-treat with their friends, so that's basically what we're going to be doing."
While both parents are still having a debate over the sweet treats for the spooky Holiday, the reality star and her rocker hubby were out in Chicago over the weekend.
Richie and Madden raised the white flag and just enjoyed the weekend and hit the Rockit Bar and Grill for brunch and dinner at Giordano's on N. Rush Street.
Last week Richie also joined the celebration of La Mer's 50 Years of an Icon event.
