Ed Sheeran Opens Suite In a Care Home In His Home Town

Ed Sheeran took a day off from music and visited a care home in his hometown and cut the ribbon for their new, aptly named suite, the Sheeran Suite.

On Tuesday, Ed Sheeran went back to his native  Framlingham to celebrate the newly refurbished Mills Meadow center, which provides nursing care for older people.

The Lego House singer was joined by his mother and father. The family toured around the facility, which includes four suites, and spent time talking with the residents before cutting the ribbon.

After touring around, Sheeran fell in love with the place and praised the management for the good work being carried out. Talking about the newly renovated care home, "It's quite nice here," Sheeran told the local newspaper the East Anglian Daily Times. "My grandfather passed away from dementia in a home like this, so it's nice to see what they are doing here - they're doing some good stuff."

Sheeran also revealed that his dad said that if the time comes, he would check into the facility and he also liked the idea, "Maybe it's a premonition. It's nice here, everyone is really friendly," he said.

Sue Hill, Mills Meadow's home manager was so delighted by Sheeran's presence during the opening, she told Belfast Telegraph, "We are over the moon that Ed could visit us and officially open our new Sheeran Suite. Ed is delightful, we are really grateful that he could spare the time in his busy schedule to pop in and meet us and see our wonderful new facilities here."

In appreciation of Sheeran's generosity, Care UK, which manages the care home, presented the singer with a check of £500 for the charity of his choice. The singer actually has chosen 'East Anglia's Children's Hospices' for the hefty check, tv3.ie reported.

To show their gratitude for the singer, the residents also presented him with a Lego set.
