Facebook Dislike Button: Mark Zuckerberg To Add New Feature Soon

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the company is planning to release a dislike button for their online social networking service.

During a Question and Answer portion held at their headquarters, Zuckerberg said that they are planning to install a dislike button in addition with the conventional like button. Last December, it can be remembered that the CEO terminated the idea of having a dislike button for Facebook.

"Some people have asked for a dislike button because they want to be able to say 'that thing isn't good,' and we're not going to do that." I don't think that's socially very valuable, or great for the community." Zuckerberg stated.

However, as of the moment, the CEO is now considering the fact of installing a new button. He said that the like button is not always applicable to all status updates like a family member's loss, crisis and other bad circumstances.

He also added that "not every moment is a good moment", and the new button will make give the users another option especially when they want to show compassion and pity to their friends.

Although the company is about to release a test for the added button, Facebook clarified that "dislike" is not yet the official name of the button. It is said that their main objective for releasing the button is to give users the opportunity to show sympathy and support to others. The company said that it can be better called a "sympathize" button which is more likely to be a button of different reactions.

Zuckerberg is anticipating that the new button will be tested to the public real soon. If the new feature will have a positive result, it will then be available to almost 1.5 billion users of Facebook.

Meanwhile, many are asking Zuckerberg about the actions that the company is taking in order for the housing in the Bay Area to be affordable for common people.
