Victoria Beckham Accused Of Promoting 'Anorexia Chic'

Victoria Beckham previously admitted that she was battling with an eating disorder. After her confession, she vowed down that she was banning very thin models from her catwalk show back in 2010. Then recently claimed that her latest collection is suitable for all type of women.

Apparently, she forgot her promise and sent very skinny models down the runway at her fashion show in New York on Sunday, which was attended by her husband David Beckham and son Brooklyn.

However, instead of positive feedbacks, her show was bombarded with criticism after viewers noticed that all of her models who walked down in the runway were too skinny for a normal size person.

Twitter was then flooded with comments, criticizing her show for allegedly promoting unhealthy, skinny looking models, especially after she recently said that her collections are suitable for all shapes and sizes.

Caroline Nokes, the MP leading an all-party parliamentary group on body image thinks this type of fashion saw is unacceptable. She thinks that this sort of behavior manifested by the designers is problematic.

"It sets unrealistic ideals and I think it can promote 'anorexia chic'" she explained to Telegraph.

She said that a famous person like Beckham can be very influential to a lot people. And she wants her collection for everybody and "She has a great opportunity to show they can be for everybody and has chosen instead to use models that are incredibly thin."

After the controversial fashion show, Nokes wants to launch a "parliamentary inquiry into the use of underage and underweight models in the British fashion industry," according to the Telegraph. She wants to set some limits and discourage designers from choosing underaged and underweight models.

She believes that the legislation could help in the fashion industry. She said that it's time to take the matter in their own hands.
