Samsung Gear S2: Company To Release New Smartwatch

Samsung has revealed its new smartwatch named Samsung Gear S2. The new device is now considered the seventh smartwatch the company has released, and is said to be the best looking wearable technology the company has made.

The Samsung Gear S2 comes in two models. The first one looks like a more traditional Gear S2 Classic with a black body. The second model is a Gear S2 that has a stylish appearance that contains a built-in 3G capacity.

The latest Gear S2 is a sleek and metallic watch that has a 1.2 inch round Super AMOLED display with 302 ppi. The new device comes in an attractive and noticeable circular display with a rotating rim which allow the users to navigate apps in an easier way.

The new smartwatch is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and also packed with a 512Mb of RAM and a 4GB internal memory. It is ran by Samsung's proprietary OS named Tizen.

In terms of dimensions, each models have slightly different measurements: the Classic S2 is measured 1.57 by 1.71 by 0.44 inches and has a mass of 1.5 ounces. The more stylish model is measured 1.73 by 2.03 by 0.52 inches and has a mass of1.8 ounces.

For the first time, the new smartwatch can now operate even with non-Samsung phones and will also have the ability to survive two to three days on one charge.

During an event in Berlin's Tempodrome, the marketing head for Samsung's mobile business Young-Hee Lee, explained the inspiration and the originality of their new product.

"We found our inspiration in a simple, perfect shape, a circle, the symbol of wholeness, focus, revolution and completion. The circle is intuitive. As your body knows instinctively, a circle is functional. With every turn, your life gets better," Lee stated.

The new gadgets is said to be released in the month of October. The South Korean company has not yet revealed the price of the smartwatch.
