LG To Release New 'G Pad' Tablet

LG Electronics has pre-announced one of its latest devices that will be launched during the IFA tech show this year. The new G Pad 2 10.1 tablet, is considered by many as an unusual mixture of old and new technology.

The G Pad 2 10.1 has a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The new tablet features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera matching its 2-megapixel front cam. It has a 2GB RAM with a 16GB of internal memory with available Micro SD card slot.

Surprisingly, the South Korean company decided to use an older version of processor for their latest device. The 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor is the one supporting the device. Although this type of processor is considered as a good performer, it is still far different compared to the latest CPUs available in the market.

In terms of OS, the new G Pad is running the latest, android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The new OS is said to be complementary to LG's several apps like the QuickMemo+, which is used for writing notes anytime even if an app is currently running.

Other new apps included in the upcoming device is the Dual Window multi-tasking mode and the Reader mode that controls and lowers the light emission of the screen for better and more comfortable reading experience.

Another improvement in LG's new device is its battery capacity. The G Pad 2 10.1 is powered with a massive 7400 mAh battery which can easily handle power consumption of any level. The device will also have a 4G LTE connectivity and a two year free of 100GB OneDrive storage.

The earlier release of LG prior to the coming IFA show is one of their strategy to handle competitions with other tech giants like Samsung and Apple. Even if the market of tablet is gradually declining, leading company sellers are still pushing themselves, trying to be at the top of the business.

LG G Pad 2 10.1 is believed to be first available in North America, Europe and Asia. As of the moment, the company has not revealed any information about the formal release date and pricing.
