A 22 year old mom from Arizona was arrested for two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide after her twins were found unresponsive in their home.
Mireya Alejandra Lopez allegedly told the cops that she intentionally drowned her two year old sons because "nobody loved them and nobody loved her."
According to Fox News, in a new released documents, she admitted to the crime and said she also attempted to kill another family member, her other son by drowning, but she was stopped by a relative.
Lopez is said to be taking medications for mental health conditions, which police links to the incident.
According to the sworn statement, Lopez' mother discovered the twins' body lying in the bedroom. She initially thought they were just taking a nap but then realized they weren't breathing.
She tried saving the kids by life saving measures and called for help,but then she heard her daughter's voice coming from the bathroom. Upon reaching the bathroom, she saw Lopez trying to drown the third boy in the bathtub.
It was then she "had to physically grab (the third boy) away from Ms. Lopez and bring him up to safety," which was also declared in the statement.
Around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, police received an emergency call coming from the house of Lopez, near 115th Avenue and Yuma Street. Police found the twins lying unresponsive in a bed, authorities informed the Arizona Republic.
The victims were taken by the authorities to separate local hospitals, but they were pronounced dead.
The identity of the boys were not immediately released. The third child was not identified by the police but remained unharmed.
Lopez is now facing two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide and bail is set at $2 million.
