HBO’s addictive new crime anthology series 'True Detective,' has claimed another victim: 'The Vampire Diaries' star Nina Dobrev.
Nina Dobrev loves the show so much that she wanted to be a part of it.
“One of the people who would love to get her hands on a role in True Detective for season three is Nina Dobrev,” a source tells us HollywoodLife exclusively.
“She has told her people to start talking to the right people and to get her into those meetings. She knows she has time since season two has just ended, but she wants to be first in line for when decisions are to be made.”
Nina Dobrev will make a good addition to the 'True Detective' cast but she is likely to have some major competition.
“Everyone in Hollywood is clamoring for a role on two shows right now and those shows are True Detective and Empire,” the source added.
“It is something that is keeping casting agents busy, but also making their lives easier because producers are getting whom and what they want.”
Clearly a huge fan of the show, the 26-year-old told her Twitter followers back in March 2014 how it's taking over her "life".
Nina Dobrev tweeted: "True Detective" is taking over my life. Can't sleep til I finish. #BingeWatching".

Although Oscar winner and fans favorite Matthew McConaughey has announced that he will not be reprising his role for the second season of True Detective, it seems that Nina Dobrev is still spending pretty much all of her free time watching the popular drama.
Even if Nina Dobrev will get a part on 'True Detective' or not, one thing is for sure, she is still welcome to come back to The CW's 'The Vampire Diaries.'
"We would have loved Nina to stay," CW president Mike Pedowitz told reporters at a Television Critics Association panel on Tuesday.
"She did a great job for the six years she was on the show. She is welcome back any time she wants to come back."
