Nail art has long been a trend - adorning one's nails with different prints, designs, polishes and even embellishments. But one fashion student is taking nail art to a whole different level by making dresses with the use of fake nails.

The genius behind the idea is Anna Goswami, who created the looks for her final design project. Her pieces were definitely inspired by pop art - but decided to use fake nails in lieu of the typically seen sequin or bead embellishments on gowns.

Anna Goswami explains where she got the idea for the garments. "I'm a nail art obsessive, and have always been a fan of beading and heavily embellished fabrications, so I just put the two together and decided to use false nails as my beads," the recent graduate told Mashable.

It wasn't an easy process, as anyone could imagine. Goswami actually hand painted each acrylic nail herself with colors reminiscent of 1970 photography.
The dresses aren't just hip, fabulous and eye catching, they're also pretty varied. There's a tunic, a long gown, and a cocktail dress with an above the knee length.

Anna Goswami is a graduate from Central Saint Martins at the University of the Arts London. Other well known alumni from Central Saint Martins include Sarah Burton (Alexander McQueen), John Galliano (Maison Martin Margiela, Givenchy, Christian Dior), Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy).
With these eccentric, innovative and fashion-forward designs, it won't be so surprising when Anna Goswami hits the big-time leagues in the near future.
