The first Mission Impossible of Tom Cruise way back in 1996, already made Cruise a successful actor. And Tom Cruise had proven himself to be a versatile actor as he starred in the movies like"Risky Business," "Top Gun," "The Color of Money," "Rain Man," "Born on the Fourth of July," "A Few Good Men" (with a pivotal late film meltdown by Jack Nicholson) and "Interview with the Vampire."
And when Tom Cruise and his producing partner, Paula Wagner, decided that Cruise needed an action franchise of his very own to make his status as an international superstar, they made "Mission: Impossible", which was a successful television series of a bygone era.
The first four films in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise has served Cruise well as it made more than two billion dollars in worldwide box office, with an impressive performance of a quartet of films as it exceeded the gross domestic product (GDP) of some countries.
Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation measured up all the negative Nancies, as the film made its mark in thebox office to repeat the success of its predecessors, the potential plot lines were not exhausted at all and and it was as if Tom Cruise has not aged and will never outgrow the role even at the age of 53.
Given that Mission: Impossible:Rogue Nation had a weak wide-opening competition, however, in the second week, Tom Cruise and the rest of the IMF team can now count more than $108.6 million domestically, and with the worldwide standing at $173.6 million.
Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation opened at $65.5M, and was followed by Fantastic Four's $34.1M and Minions $18.2M.
As the Fantastic Four production expected to clear at least $40 million and some people said that the film will approach $50 million as it heads into the weekend. Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson, declined to comment specifically on Fantastic Four 2 Chris Aronson stated, "While we're disappointed, we remain committed to these characters and we have a lot to look forward to in our Marvel universe."
