Anthony Anderson’s Weight Loss, “This Is What I’m Supposed To Look Like”

Anthony Anderson's weight loss is all for the better after being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes thirteen years ago.

Anderson, star of the latest ABC series, "Black-ish", confesses that healthier living helped him achieve a 47 pound weight loss.

He knew was overweight then but said he was always "confident" and that being overweight "was never an issue" for him, reported People.

The self-described "husky" man was at his heaviest at 270 pounds when he decided to start making little changes in his health and diet. An additional motivation for his weight loss was being diagnosed of Type 2 Diabetes thirteen years ago.

After the diagnosis, Anderson started eating "healthier and making small lifestyle changes". The actor started eating in moderation but he still eats small amounts of stuff he used to eat.

In 2008, this eating habit extremely changed. "When I was cast in Law & Order, I decided to make a drastic change," says Anderson. "I got more serious about my health and appearance - not from a vanity standpoint. I just started making healthier choices."

Anderson may have seen the benefits of his healthier lifestyle to his weight loss and even took his diet transformation to a different level. He admits now that he is on a plant-based diet. "I'm vegan-ish - I'm not going to send anything back to the kitchen if some butter or cream found its way onto the plate," Anderson shared.

His wife, Alvina and two kids, Kira and Nathan were very supportive of his lifestyle choice and has always been there to help him maintain his new figure but with some compromises for the kids.

Anderson does not plan to be forever vegan but he is surely proud of his achievement so far.
