If you buy apple juice on the regular, it's time for a pantry check. There is a voluntary recall underway of Martinelli's apple juice. One lot of the apple juice has been linked to elevated levels of inorganic arsenic. The one liter bottles were shipped to stores about a year ago.  It's incredibly important that you not drink this juice. Exposure to high levels of inorganic arsenic can pose significant health risks, including cancer, birth defects, and heart issues, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall specifically targets 1-liter (33.8-ounce) glass bottles of Martinelli's apple juice with a best by date of March 9, 2026 or March 10, 2026. These bottles were shipped to retailers nationwide between March 13, 2023 and September 27, 2023, with the majority shipped before July 28, 2023.

The FDA recently lowered the industry action level for inorganic arsenic in apple juice to 10 parts per billion (ppb), aligning it with the standard for drinking water. The specific Martinelli's lot in question tested at 11.6 ppb, exceeding this new safety guideline. It's important to note that this is an isolated incident.
