Azealia Banks was reportedly arrested in New York on Wednesday (December 16) after allegedly punching a female security guard outside a nightclub and "biting her in the boob".
The 24-year-old rapper was at the club for a private party when she got into a dispute with bouncers and was tossed at about 12:30 a.m.
Banks was looking to gain entry into Manhattan’s Up & Down nightclub but was stopped at the door because she did not have a hand stamp that was required for the invite-only part
The lady bouncer informed Azealia, “You need a stamp to get in.”
But when Banks didn’t have the special stamp, bouncers stopped her and a fight broke out.
Police sources said Azealia was taken to the Sixth Precinct on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault and held there for evaluation until Wednesday, December 16, evening.
She was officially charged with those three counts, as well an additional attempted assault with the intent to cause physical injury, in an arraignment later the same day.
The singer was photographed entering the Sixth Precinct and even hammed it up for photographers on her way out.
After she was handed a pass by one of the club owners, Page Six claimed the rapper started 'to curse at the guards again, explaining who she was, that she’s on Rihanna’s album.'
On October, Azealia Banks was also under investigation by the LAPD over an alleged fight with nightclub security in Los Angeles.
Video footage obtained by TMZ show Azealia getting into a fight with the guard after she was asked to leave the club for 'unruly behavior.'
The rapper also cancelled a number of gigs in the US last month saying she was "busy at work".
Banks was known for publicly speaking out on African-American civil rights issues, with a commentator at Splice Today described Banks as having "that hot New York temper where she will pop off if you cross her the wrong way."
