Hilary Duff's husband is Mike Comrie, a Canadian retired professional hockey player, who was in the NHL for thirteen years. In 2012 he had to retire due to undergoing a third hip surgery, and he simply had enough after that.
Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie got married in 2010, when she was 22 and he was 29 years old. They did it in Santa Barbara, California and the event was apparently truly beautiful.
An eyewitness said at the time to People, "Mike held his arm around Hilary for most of the romantic, candlelit ceremony, and they both looked extremely happy."
Sounds beautiful, doesn't it? They had started dating in 2007. Then, in 2012 they had their son, Luca Cruz Comrie.
The problems started in 2014, well they probably did before but we all found out just then. In January this year, they announced their supposed split. Apparently, things weren't working out and still, they said that "They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives," as Hilary Duff's rep said at the time and New York Daily News noted.
But nothing is over until it's over! Now, in September 11th was Mike Comrie's birthday and Hilary Duff dedicated him a loving message saying, "Happy birthday, Mikey! Have a great boys day" as the singer was in Sidney promoting her latest single and Mike was with Luca back in US.
This last message raised suspicions towards a possible comeback of the couple, and even in September 10th, Hilary Duff visited the Australian radio Kyle & Jackie O show and when asked about the situation, said "We're uncoupled for now... if there wasn't a chance of getting back, would have filed for divorce...," Daily Mail noted.
Apart from all of this, Aaron Carter attempted to cause some more trouble in paradise during March this year for Hilary Duff and her husband by dedicating messages in Twitter to her, as Buzzfeed countered. Still, Hilary Duff was just as surprised by these declarations like anyone else.
So, we see that although things seem to be rocky-patchy for the couple, they seem to be working out their issues. Hilary Duff and her husband will remain together for now at least, and hopefully away from drama soon.
