Corey Taylor Of 'Slipknot' Pays Tribute To Scott Weiland

On Monday, December 7, Corey Taylor, the lead singer of the heavy metal band Slipknot and hard rock metal band Stone Sour, joined Royal Machines on stage at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California to perform the Stone Temple Pilots' classic song "Sex Type Thing," as a tribute to the late Stone Temple Pilots frontman - Scott Weiland.

The fan-filmed video footage of Corey Taylor's appearance in the gig also included a rendition of the song "Love Removal Machine" by the British hard rock band The Cult.

The Royal Machines is considered as the "all-star covers fun-times band" that features CAMP FREDDY members - Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction/Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Morrison (English guitarist and singer - who plays guitar with Billy Idol), the son of legendary folk singer Donovan - Donovan Leitch, and the American musician who is best known as the current bassist of alternative rock band Jane's Addiction - Chris Chaney.

However, Corey Taylor, the American musician, author, and actor, famously slammed the late American musician and singer-songwriter Scott Weiland as a "lazy piece of shit" following the Stone Temple Pilots lead singer's decision to record and release the album of holiday standards - "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year."

Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland, at the age of 48 was found dead on his tour bus last Thursday December 3. The suspected cause of Scott Weiland's death is cardiac arrest, although an official report has yet to be confirmed.

But a small amount of cocaine was found on the bus and the bassist for Scott Weiland's band The Wildabouts - Tommy Black, was arrested for cocaine possession.

Both of Scott's former bands, Stone Temple Pilots and the American hard rock supergroup - Velvet Revolver, issued statements on Scott Weiland's passing, while musicians and fans all over the world have also posted tributes.
