Now that he's promoting two new movies, "The Big Short" and "The Nice Guys," Ryan Gosling is back to warm the hearts of his undying fan base after a long absence on screen.
In his first stint as a "Saturday Night Live" host on December 5, Ryan Gosling definitely didn't disappoint - even though he broke out of character several times in numerous sketches - by showing off his own comedic chops.
In an immigrant-themed sketch, which was probably one of the highlights of the "SNL" episode, Ryan Gosling couldn't help but laugh and giggle even when he wasn't supposed to. Complex explains the sketch:
"In 'Close Encounters,' Gosling, Cecily Strong, and Kate McKinnon play characters who have been abducted by aliens. They begin to share their experiences with Pentagon officials - Aidy Bryant and Bobby Moynihan. Strong and Gosling play hippie-like figures who had pleasant experiences with the aliens, but McKinnon, always the standout, plays a middle-aged chain smoker whose time with the 'gray aliens' weren't all that great. McKinnon goes on to tell how they watched her pee in a some sort of bowl, felt her up, and then dropped her over a Long John's Silvers. It's a pretty funny bit, only made funnier when the whole team started cracking up mid-sketch. While they were all able to deliver, Bryant seemed to have tears in her eyes and Gosling could barely contain his giggles."
Not only that, but in another sketch, Ryan Gosling showcased some of his dance moves - which definitely prompted squeals from every girl around the world.
Playing himself in the skit, Ryan Gosling goes to a bar back in his hometown. He meets his childhood friend Mooney who then bullies him and attempts to embarrass him by making him sing and dance, as reported by USA Today.
