Forget flipping a coin for breakfast or dinner. IHOP and Applebee's are teaming up to create a combination restaurant that's like a choose-your-own-adventure for your appetite - or your crazy, indecisive family (who, me?). Pancakes AND boneless wings at lunch and all under one roof? Sign me up.
Dine Brands, the mastermind behind both IHOP and Applebee's, is testing out this genius concept overseas, and it's already a hit. The company just opened its eighth dual-branded restaurant in Leon, Mexico, in January and says that the concept is performing well overseas (like double the revenue kind of good).
Double the Eats at Co-Branded IHOP and Applebees
These combo restaurants offer separate IHOP and Applebee's sections, but essentially operate as one big restaurant, sharing the kitchen and offering both menus in both restaurant spaces. That means when your kid wants pancakes, and you want a quesadilla burger (or maybe just a cocktail - or two), this concept's got you covered.
Dine Brands is eyeing the U.S. for this concept in the next two years, and we'll be having our rooty-tooty-eatin-goodin-the-neighborhood moment in no time at all.
